Yuxiao (Rain) Luo
Assistant Professor of Information Systems
Dr. Yuxiao (Rain) Luo is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. His research takes a socio-technical perspective, exploring issues at the intersections of business and technology.
Before joining Loyola, Dr. Luo taught undergraduate courses in data analytics, business statistics, and introduction to information systems, as well as Digital Research Institute (DRI) and R workshops for MS, PhD, and DBA students at Baruch College and The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).
Dr. Luo conducts interdisciplinary research and has published in journals such as Decision Support Systems and the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. His research has been presented at leading academic conferences and organizations, including INFORMS, the Association for Information Systems (AIS), the Academy of Management (AOM), and the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). He also serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and conferences, including Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Information Systems Frontiers, Decision Support Systems, Information & Management, AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction, ICIS, HICSS, and DSI. Beyond his academic work, Dr. Luo develops open-access resources that support digital research and data literacy, including the freely available book Data Analytics in Digital Research with R.
