Edoardo Marchesi

Assistant Professor of Finance

Dr. Edoardo Marchesi is an assistant professor of finance at Loyola University Chicago's Quinlan School of Business, where he studies technological change in private markets. His first strand of research examines how artificial intelligence is transforming entrepreneurship, from who starts companies to how new capabilities spread through the economy. His second strand focuses on the role of venture capital and private equity in financing and shaping innovation.

An empiricist by training, Marchesi specializes in extracting insights from nontraditional data sources, such as text from regulatory filings, corporate disclosures, and job postings, and pairing them with modern causal inference methods.
