Bio
Jessica Brown began her career in journalism at The Post-Standard in Syracuse, N.Y. There she worked as an editor on the sports copy desk and as an artist in the graphics department. She later joined the graphics department at The Rockford Register Star in Rockford, Ill., and then worked on the sports desk at the Orlando Sentinel in Orlando Fla., as both a desk editor and designer. She wants to encourage SOC students to consider visual journalism and creative paths as they work toward their degree and evaluate job opportunities in their fields. Brown earned an M. Ed. in Higher Education from Loyola University in May 2017.
