Topics in Global Strategic Communication: Spain

COMM 421

Topics in Global Strategic Communication: Spain is a semester-long class that includes an immersion trip to Spain during Spring Break. We will explore the creation of influence (advertising and public relations) in both USA Hispanic and global Spanish-language markets. The class will meet limited Thursday evenings in addition to the trip to Spain.

The immersion will include visits to Madrid and Sevilla (with agency visits in each location), as well as cooperative projects with students at our sister institution, Loyola University Andalucia in Sevilla. After class we will have time to explore the rich cultural treasures of Spain, from Roman through Muslim and Christian influences.

The class should be of interest to those studying advertising, branding, and strategic communications, and wanting to explore the world’s most populated and globally influential country.

There are no pre-requisites for the course. This is a graduate-level course targeted to students in the M.S. Global Strategic Communication program. Undergraduate students may obtain permission from the instructor to enroll.
