Experience the local flavor and explore the taste of neighborhood restaurants at this collaborative event hosted by Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, Rogers Park Business Alliance, and Loyola University Chicago. Registrants will have a the option of visiting over 15 different restaurants in Edgewater and Rogers Park.

The North Lake Shore Earth Day is a free, one-day event at the Quinlan Life Sciences Building and includes a variety of dynamic, knowledgeable guest speakers presenting on enviromental topics, a green fair of local organizations and vendors and food, and hands-on activities for adults and children aged 5-12. The Loyola University Chicago Farmer’s Market connects any community members with healthy, locally and sustainably grown produce and prepared foods. Originally the vision of a student project in the Loyola's Solutions to Environmental Problems (STEP) Food Systems course, over the past year the market has grown to include over 12 different vendors.
Ramblin' Around is a unique guide providing an extensive list of active community restaurants, stores and services to Loyola students around the Lake Shore and Water Tower neighborhoods. The Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival (GAAF) is a free, weekend-long arts festival that features 100+ artists, open studios and live entertainment on three outdoor stages. Experience art of all disciplines, music, theater, food, and drink on the cobblestone streets of the Glenwood Avenue Arts District in Chicago's historic Rogers Park neighborhood.

First-year students can enjoy a stroll through the neighborhood and learn more about the history of Rogers Park and Edgewater and some unique spots in the community before exploring a new lunch experience at a local independent or ethnic restaurant. Join your first-year classmates to spend a few hours volunteering in the neighborhood during move-in weekend. See the neighborhood, meet some new people, and make a difference from the start! Don't miss this opportunity to connect with other students and give your time and energy to service projects in the Rogers Park and Edgewater communities. The first 400 participants will receive a t-shirt, and lunch will be provided for all. For more information, take a look at your Welcome Week materials or luc.edu/serve.

Rogers Park, Edgewater, and all members of the Loyola community join together for this fabulous annual firework display to celebrate the start of the new academic year. Bring the whole family to this festive event!

Where: Starting location: ChainLinks, located inside Main Parking Structure
Come enjoy an organized bike ride designed to bring student and non-student residents in the neighborhood together in appreciation of the community, while raising awareness of bicycling as an alternative mode of transportation. The ride is facilitated by Chainlinks, Loyola's premiere Bike Shop, and meanders through Rogers Park, Edgewater and Andersonville, before taking the lakefront path to Water Tower Campus.
