Commitment to Academic Achievement

The Loyola Greek community places a strong emphasis on academic achievement.  The all-Greek GPA is consistently above the all-University GPA.  Individual chapters also have scholarship programs in place designed to help students continue to excel academically and help members when they begin to struggle.  There are also incentive programs within the chapters and councils to encourage members to work harder.  Each semester a Greek community grade report is compiled and posted on our website.

Commitment to Community Service

The Loyola Greek community places a strong emphasis on service and philanthropy.  This is demonstrated through the individual philanthropy events that raise money for local and national non-profit agencies like the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House, and St. Judes to name a few.  Together Loyola Greek Organizations have raised over $80,000 in the past academic year alone.  There is also an annual Greeks for a Good Cause Spring Break Service Trip to work with Habitat for Humanity.

Commitment to Leadership and Unity

The Loyola Greek community is made up of three governing councils; the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council and Panhellenic Council.  There are also 20 individual chapters that fall under one of the three councils.  As a self-governing community there are a multitude of leadership opportunities within each of the councils and chapters.  These leadership positions are open to all students freshman through senior year.

Sorority & Fraternity Life

The Greek community at Loyola is approximately 8% of the undergraduate student population and it's still growing!  If you're thinking about joining a fraternity or sorority we recommend that you take time and explore every organization on campus to find a fit that best meets your needs. While every fraternity/sorority is founded on similar values of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Unity the makeup of every chapter is unique.
