Loyola Wins The Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Award!!
Loyola has earned its first ever Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Award, while ranking among the nation’s best in several academic classifications in the 2018-19 school year.
The MVC All-Academic Award is presented annually to the institution that finishes the school year with the best grade point average among its student-athletes who participate in The Valley. Loyola's student-athletes completed the 2019 Spring grading period with a department-wide 3.484 collective cumulative GPA. Drake (3.446) and Southern Illinois (3.392) followed closely behind in the MVC Academic Award standings.
En route to its first MVC All-Academic Award, Loyola placed 36 student-athletes on MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams in 2018-19 and had two Google Cloud Academic All-America selections - Marius Kullmann (men's soccer), Clayton Custer (men's basketball). A total of five Ramblers were named to Google Cloud Academic All-District teams. There were 186 Ramblers on the recently announced 2018-19 MVC Academic Honor Roll, and 27 Ramblers achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA and 89 percent of Loyola student-athletes owned a 3.0 GPA during the Spring 2019 term.
Notably, Loyola tied for second in the nation with a 99 percent Graduation Success Rate. LU ranked tied for first in each of the last two years. Additionally, a total of 11 of Loyola's teams posted APR scores of 983 or higher, with four teams posting perfect 1,000 scores (women's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, women's track and field)
