Spring 2017 Academic Achievements
A total of 122 Loyola University Chicago student-athletes were recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference with the announcement today of the 2016-17 MVC Academic Awards.
Highlighting the list of honorees were four Ramblers – Summer Moser (women's golf), Logan Willis (women's golf), Maria Carr (women's soccer) and Claire Knaus (women's cross country/track and field) – who were recipients of the President's Council Academic Excellence Award. Winners of this award must have a minimum 3.80 cumulative grade-point average through the Spring 2017 semester, participate in athletics a minimum of two years and be within 18 hours of graduation.
Loyola had a total of 36 student-athletes recognized with the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum 3.50 grade-point average for the previous two semesters, a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and participation in athletics.
Loyola placed 122 student-athletes of the MVC Honor Roll for posting a minimum 3.20 grade-point average during the 2016-17 academic year.
The women's soccer team led all Rambler programs with 23 MVC Honor Roll honorees, followed closely by women's cross country/track and field (22) and men's cross country/track and field (20).
In addition to their outstanding achievements in their respective sports, Loyola student-athletes also earn high praise for their academic pursuits. According to the latest data released last fall, Loyola was ranked No. 1 in the nation, tied with Harvard University, with a 99 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) score.
