The Loyola Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program
The Loyola Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (LUROP) offers fellowships for mentored research, guides to external research opportunities, travel grants for conference presentations, workshops and guidance on research and presentation skills, and the annual opportunity for students to present their work at the Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium. 

In Spring 2021, four undergraduate nursing students received a LUROP Provost Research Fellowship. The students and faculty mentors are:   

  • Miguel Camera, mentored by Angela Mahaffey 
    Project title: Expanding Safe Sanitization Methods to E-Learning Practices 
  • Katy Crouch, mentored by Kevin Mazor 
    Project title: Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Hand Hygiene Practices of Health    Care Professionals

    Project title: The Lived Experience of Nursing Students in Nursing Education with Implicit Bias  
  • Emily Ligas, mentored by Kevin Mazor
