Career Week kicks off with alumni guest speakers in our classes throughout the day and across all disciplines. Speakers will talk to students about how they started their careers, describe the ins-and-outs of their industries, and share stories of navigating challenging moments.

Dean's Networking Hour

2:00pm - 3:00pm, Schreiber Center, 908 

Join us to connect with alumni and friends of the University during our Dean's Networking Hour. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to grab a snack and further engage with some of our guest speakers.

Market Yourself for Success: An Interview and Networking Skills Workshop

11:30am - 12:30pm, Schreiber 908

Ralph Wakerly joins us to provide an interviewing and networking skills workshop to students. All levels are welcome! Come prepared to work in small groups, share ideas, and role play some of the skills. Students in attendance will also receive a copy of the PowerPoint presentation.

About Ralph: Ralph is an executive advisor, mentor, and investor with expertise in marketing, strategy, healthcare, investments, and career development. He is the co-founder and former president of C-Suite Resources, a healthcare industry intelligence and executive advisory firm. His independent consulting firm, Wakerly Partners, has helped hundreds of individuals to build their personal brand and achieve career success. Ralph currently serves as a volunteer career consultant for Peoples Resource Center and mentor for Loyola business students. He is also treasurer for the Wakerly Family Foundation, which supports various charitable organizations.

Lunch and Learn with Associated Bank

11:30am - 1:00 pm, 525 W. Monroe Street

Students will gain an understanding of Associated Bank's unique place in the market, hear about early talent opportunities, and hear from staff about their work and their path to Associated Bank. Please bring your photo ID for security access and meet in the Schreiber lobby at 10:30am for transportation to the site.

Lunch and Learn with Tempus

Students will hear about the unique work that Tempus as a technology company that advances precision medicine through the practical application of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Staff members of Tempus will present on all facets of their operation including recruiting, accounting, and financials! Please bring a valid photo ID for security purposes and plan to meet in the lobby at 11:45am for a 12:15pm site arrival time.

This fair is designed to provide an opportunity for employers to engage with students exploring these areas. Employers from a range of organizations in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors recruit for both internship and full-time hiring needs. Student can sign up and learn more about this fair on Handshake.

Etiquette Dinner

5:30pm - 7:30pm, Schreiber, Wintrust Hall (Schreiber 908)

Business is not always conducted in an office. Sometimes, it's over a meal or during a networking event. The point of dining and networking etiquette is to make YOU feel comfortable and confident, so don't miss this opportunity to learn more about it while enjoying a 3-course meal! Space is limited, so register by 12 noon on September 17!

Our facilitator, Ashley Ritter, is the senior director of engagement in the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement at North Park University. She previously served as the associate dean of the School of Business and Nonprofit Management at North Park University. She is a leadership and career coach with over 15 years of experience across a variety of sectors including human resources, nonprofit management, healthcare, and higher education. In her roles, she has been responsible for comprehensive leadership development programming, employee recruitment and engagement, anti-racism and implicit bias training, and career education. She believes mindfulness and emotional intelligence are just two tools among many we can use to transform our workplaces for good.

From Classroom to Career: Real Advice for the Job Search

Hear from recent alums about their job searches after college. Our panelists will share stories of their experiences including the good, the bad, and the sometimes humorous. This lively discussion will offer ample time for Q&A.
