Atlanta: Finally Here
Avery Tritz '24
We are finally here! This morning, everyone met at 9:30 am in Damen to eat breakfast and depart for Midway. As soon as I entered the meeting room, I could feel the room’s excited energy. To be honest, it was difficult to sit down, eat, and prepare to leave because all I wanted to do was be on the way to Atlanta already!
Before we left campus, we spoke to each other about our identities, interests, and career goals. It was amazing to see the diversity in the room in terms of these categories. There are so many great people on this trip, and it made me excited to get to know everyone over the next week. This conversation also sparked a sense of camaraderie among the group in that we want to help and support each other's successes on The Ramble.
After arriving to Atlanta, we all were exhausted from the travel day, but excited to see what the rest of the day was going to hold in store.
Being in Atlanta, moving into our rooms, and eating our first meal in the hotel all felt like the final steps in preparation for what we have all been waiting for. Tomorrow is our first full day in Atlanta. We get to see The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, have some free time to explore, and get to know each other even more. Every day is exciting and has something to look forward to. I cannot be happier to have arrived in Atlanta!
