Students are expected to conduct their research, especially any field of experiential research, in Rome and Ho Chi Minh City. The program director, a faculty member, or other staff person will be available at both the John Felice Rome Center and the Loyola Vietnam Center as the on-site Ricci Scholar program liaison and will assist students in Rome and Ho Chi Minh City with program seminar meetings, with local contacts, and with research support. The final redaction of their paper, thesis, or portfolio must be completed within the Fall Semester of senior year.
Students successfully completing the research project will give a presentation to a convocation of Ricci Scholars, in which all stateside Ricci Scholars, including new applicants, will participate. Students who successfully complete all aspects of the program will have a special designation as Ricci Scholars at graduation. Senior Ricci Scholars are expected to provide advice and support to sophomore Ricci applicants and awardees.
