Course Description
This course is an introduction to the history of the United States from the colonial era through the Civil War. Students will demonstrate an understanding of Native American societies, the impact of European colonization, the creation and evolution of democratic institutions in a multicultural society, the geographic expansion of the United States, and the impact of slavery.Prerequisite/s
HIST 101, HIST 102, HIST 103, or HIST 104 for students admitted to Loyola University for Fall 2012 or later. No requirement for students with a declared major or minor in History.Course Offering
