Student Employment - Community-based Federal Work-Study Employment Sites
The list of 2012-2013 partners will be posted here by August 1, 2012.
Each year dozens of health and human service non-profit organizations contract with Loyola University Chicago in order to hire students who receive Federal Work-Study. These organizations are able to provide over 600 positions annually. Only pre-approved agencies may participate in this program as work-study funds are limited.
The Center for Experiential Learning takes critical measures to ensure that the experience of Student Employees in the off-campus work-study program is positive. To do this, each employer partner undergoes:
- Formal contracting
- A safety and commute site visit
- Position review
- Annual assessment
Partners that do not meet our expectations, are outside of a reasonable commute, or who offer positions that are incompatible with either Loyola's values or Federal guidelines are not considered appropriate for this program.
Examples of previous partners include:
- Albany Park Community Center Youth Program
- Chicago Public Schools
- Office of Catholic School
- Children's Memorial Hospital
- Ida Crown Jewish High School
- McGaw YMCA
- Better Boys Foundation
- Chicago International Charter Schools
