Susan Dimock, PhD

Susan Dimock is Director of Loyola University Chicago’s Washington Program. Prior to Loyola, Dr. Dimock was Interim Director for the University of Illinois’ Washington, DC, internship program for 3 years, and served as an instructor and the Associate Director of Illinois in Washington since spring 2008. She brings previous teaching and management experience with study-in-Washington programs from many years at the University of California’s Washington Center.  Dr. Dimock began her Washington career working on health policy as a Congressional Fellow in the Office of Senator Jack Reed (D-RI).  She then worked as the Program Manager at the Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health and served as that organization’s Acting Executive Director as it underwent a major reorganization and merger with GWU’s Department of Public Health.  Dr. Dimock holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego and a BA in History from Cornell University.  She lives in Falls Church, VA with her husband, Michael, and their son, Casey.
