Muna Aryal

LUC INSPIRED is pleased to introduce this month’s faculty spotlight: Dr. Muna Aryal. Dr. Aryal is an Assistant Professor of Engineering with research specializing in the development of noninvasive drug delivery tools. Her team’s work was recently presented at the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium, which acts as a forum for researchers and practitioners in the medical ultrasonics field.

Dr. Aryal was also recently awarded the prestigious “Healthy Longevity Global Competition Catalyst Award” offered by the National Academy of Sciences. With the award, Dr. Aryal will collaborate with Dr. Tyrone Porter at the University of Texas to develop a new strategy to combat aging-related brain disorders such as Alzheimer's. The two hope to achieve this through proposing a simple, transcranial ultrasound procedure that will noninvasively transport antibodies throughout the brain needed to treat neuropathologies. This then has the potential to increase the quality of life and extend the lifespan of patients with these brain disorders.

We are so proud of Dr. Aryal’s accomplishments and are excited to see what else she achieves.
