Ms. Geralyn Busnardo
Ms. Busnardo is an international development expert with 18 years of professional experience implementing rule of law projects in developing and post-conflict countries. Ms. Busnardo has served as a Chief of Party in Egypt and Afghanistan, implementing justice sector and civil society reforms and managing up to 65 national and international staff. In addition, she has significant overseas experience in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Iraq. For the past two years, Ms. Busnardo has been serving as the Access to Justice and Legal Aid Lead on the USAID Promoting the Rule of Law in Myanmar project, where she was appointed to be the international advisor to the Union Legal Aid Board. Previously, Ms. Busnardo worked in San Francisco as the Director of the Program Implementation Department overseeing rule of law, transparency, countering violent extremism, and community empowerment projects in the Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, and the Caribbean. Concurrently, she served as Regional Technical Director for the Iraq Access to Justice Program and for the Middle East Region. She contributed to senior management, communications, proposal writing, and business development efforts for the company as a whole. Ms. Busnardo is well versed in multi-national reform environments involving the United Nations, the European Union, and other donors. Prior to working in international development, Ms. Busnardo practiced law for 10 years, primarily as a Deputy Public Defender in Los Angeles County.
