Examen - 16 2025
Transcript
1. Begin in the name of God, “Bismillah.”
Make the moment still. Regard the moment as a gift.
Breathe. Without breathing, there is no life.
So, regard each gift of the air entering you as among the most valuable gifts the Divine is giving you.
In your first breaths, take a few normal breaths.
In your next breaths, breathe from your diaphragm in your center.
In the next breaths, breathe from your center, expanding your sides.
In the next breaths, breathe from your center, expanding front and lower back.
In the next breaths, breathe from your center, expanding from top to bottom.
In the next breaths, combine all six directions, side to side, front to back, top to bottom.
If you are able to breathe simultaneously in all six directions, you are breathing according to your natural state. You are breathing as a baby breathes.
2. Blessed day.
As you continue to breathe, decide that your day has been blessed. Decide that your night has been blessed. Make the choice.
Think to yourself, communicate with the Divine as follows even if we are speaking of the past or future,
“My Lord, guide me to be grateful for what You have bestowed upon me.”
“My Lord, guide me to be grateful for what You have bestowed upon me and my family.”
“My Lord, guide me to be grateful for what You have bestowed upon me and my family and all of my loved ones.”
“And all of my acquaintances.”
“And all of the strangers I have been near.”
“And all of those from whom I keep distance.”
3. Healing.
As you continue to breathe, identify where in these prayers, did you find resistance.
Was it difficult to appreciate the Day or Night as blessed?
If yes, find the location of the pain in you and yearn for healing.

What do you need to do to let go?
What do you need to be able to free the burden in your heart?
What do you need to receive to be able to forgive?
When you’ve identified these things, what do you need to inform them that you have forgiven them?
May we each receive forgiveness.
May we each forgive.
May we each grow.
Peace be upon you all.
