Physical Exam Skills Task Trainer Descriptions

The Eye Examination Simulator is a trainer for fundus examination, designed to allow examination of eyegrounds with the provider’s own ophthalmoscope.  Various cases can be set up for trainees using combinations of choice of slides, depth and pupil diameter. 

The Ear Examination Simulator is designed for training in the examination of the external acoustic meatus and tympanic membrane directly with an otoscope.  Designed for training in distinguishing case and also practicing ear wax and foreign body removal. 

This model allows examination training of dimple sign.  The palpable collarbone and rib structure are embedded in the soft breast model.  The differences between four typical breast lumps can be distinguished by palpation.   

Torso model has pathological symptoms of lumps and skin changes that learns can visually inspect and palpate in order to have a better understanding and knowledge of breast cancer symptoms. 

This simulator closely duplicates the tactile qualities of clinical prostate examination.  It accurately portrays various stages of prostatic carcinoma and helps the learner to distinguish clinically between the benign gland and malignancy. 

Presents accurate anatomical and tactile representation of the female pelvis for hands-on examination and diagnosis of pathologies and abnormalities.   Interchangeable uteri include a normal anatomy, ovarian cyst, fibroid, and retroverted uterus.  

Presents accurate anatomical and tactile representation of the male pelvis for hands-on examination and diagnosis of pathologies and abnormalities.   Interchangeable penile modules include normal anatomy, varicocele, testicular tumor/penile cancer, epididymal cysts, and hydrocele. 

Harvey provides a comprehensive cardiology curriculum by realistically simulating 30 cardiac conditions..  The student may learn at his/her own rate and become personally involved in the evaluation, acquiring skills as well as cognitive information. 

This device can be strapped onto a standardized participant so that learners can use their own stethoscope to listen to multiple anatomically correct heart and lung sounds.
