About the Behavioral Health Simulation Lab

The School of Social Work is proud to unveil this multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art Simulation Lab on our Water Tower Campus, housed within the School of Social Work on the 4th Floor of Maguire Hall. The lab is part of Loyola's Center for Simulation Education.

The lab is partially funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) via the support of Illinois Senator Dick Durbin and a 2024 congressionally directed spending award. Loyola University Chicago also contributed to funding this effort. The lab will offer 10-12 different rooms, each furnished to recreate various real-world spaces where social workers may practice (e.g. living rooms, counseling office). The rooms will be outfitted with technology designed to observe these simulations, so students can gain valuable feedback from instructors in a conducive learning environment.

"We are expanding how we prepare students—and using research to evaluate how this innovative center can make a lasting impact on the social work field and the communities we serve." Patricia Findley, DrPH, MSW, LCSW Dean of the School of Social Work
