Session Dates

Start planning now to study at Loyola University Chicago in Summer 2014!

*Early Summer Session May 19 - June 13 (four weeks)
Summer Session A May 19 - June 27 (six weeks)
Summer Session B June 30- August 8 (six weeks)
Summer Session C June 2 - July 25 (eight weeks)
*Please note that we offer only a few courses during the Early Session.

Courses, Schedules, and Registration

New Loyola Students

Visiting Students and Prospective Undergraduates
Visiting students and prospective undergraduates are required to apply to Loyola prior to registration for Summer Sessions. The Summer Sessions application is now available. 

Admitted Transfer Students for Fall 2014
Admitted transfer students interested in enrolling in summer courses should contact Undergraduate Admissions for more information. Please call 800-262-2373 or visit Undergraduate Admissions.

Graduate and Professional Students
Prospective students who would like more information about graduate or professional summer study should complete our online request form.

Continuing Loyola Students

Current Loyola students are not required to complete an application for Summer Sessions.

Number of Credit Hours Permitted

Undergraduate students may enroll up to eight credit hours at any one time. (Therefore, students should note that some sessions overlap in dates and consider this registration carefully in planning summer schedules.) A current Loyola University student who wishes to apply for an exception to this rule should contact the dean of his or her school.  Visiting students should contact the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

Session B

  July 4 NO CLASSES: Independence Day.
  July 3 Last day to convert from credit to audit and to request pass/no pass option.

  August 1 Last day to withdraw from session without a penalty grade of "WF."
  August 8 Session ends.
Session C
  June 2 SESSION BEGINS
  June 2-3 Late registration (fee applies), late registration ends at midnight.
  June 3 Last day to drop a course without a grade of "W."
  June 6 Last day to convert from credit to audit and to request pass/no pass option.
  July 4 NO CLASSES: Independence Day.
  July 11 Makeup day for Independence Day.
  July 11 Last day to withdraw from session without a penalty grade of "WF."
  July 25 Session ends.

BURSAR CALENDAR 2014

Dropping, adding, or withdrawing from classes directly impacts your financial account depending upon when you take action. Before you make a decision, please review the registration responsibility below or review the withdrawal information on the Office of the Bursar website.

By registering for classes, you accept responsibility for paying all tuition and other fees associated with these classes.

If your academic plans change, you must take action to withdraw from your classes. Failure to attend class does not result in an automatic withdrawal or removal of charges from your student account.

You may withdraw from courses using LOCUS.
