Landfill on campus a glimpse into Chicago's past

What’s underneath this grass on Halas Quad, may surprise you: old garbage. Extending across this part of Loyola’s Lake Shore campus is a landfill that contains about 60 tons of trash. Hundreds of artifacts exposed during construction projects have been collected and studied by Anthropology professor Dr. Daniel Amick. (Stephanie Buffamonte reported, shot and edited this piece.)
