Hello! My name is Khalil Webb. I'm here to tell you about my Arrupe College experience.
How I chose my degree:
I have a special relationship with psychological development and how it affects everyone differently. The passion for understanding the complications and urges of the brain on why/how we interact with one another has always been my biggest interest. It has only grown since pursuing my higher education.
Professor a new student should absolutely take a class with:
I suggest taking an Ethics class with Dr. Minerva Ahumada for enlightenment on philosophy, or Dr. Jennifer Armstrong's Oral Communication and Presentation class for a good amount of practice and support in public speaking.
Class I never expected to love:
I did not expect to love Western Civilization from the 17th Century with Dr. René Luís Alvarez, but the detail discussed about politics, commerce, and even the development of education made me better appreciate the tools we have today. History can often be studied to compare the societal patterns of today's society. Statistics was probably my hardest course because I am not the biggest fan of math. It, along with my professor, challenged my ability to pay attention to detail and well as go back and re-analyze my problem solving which made me better both inside and out of math.
Favorite spot on campus:
My favorite place on campus is the 8th floor on Corboy Law Center's library. Quiet, great views… no further explanation needed, honestly.
Best thing I've done since coming to Arrupe:
The best thing I've done is take advantage of the support and opportunities that Arrupe has to offer. From mental health services to student organizations and support, I feel like I have tried my best to expand my interests including traveling abroad with students, organizing events and developing connections within our network.
Some surprisingly cool things about Arrupe:
The diversity is what makes the community unique, and the hands-on contribution by the staff makes you feel like your support system is genuine.
