Hello! My name is Naja Rone. I'm here to tell you about my Arrupe College experience.

How I chose my degree:
My degree was selected on multiple terms, of me encountering a Federal Bureau investigator one-on-one and learning the major components of who they are, growing up watching criminal shows that were very interesting from the victims nearly having heart attacks from hiding from the law enforcement to police finding the victims, and importantly because I want to make a change in the law enforcement field. Being that men are an out numbering women in the field and I want to be a representation of my community by showing my experiences and sharing the insights that I have strengthen since a little girl.

My plans after graduation:
Along with attending school, I will be doing internships that circulates around my passion which is criminology. I want to get a feel for doing research and possibly be in office and get insight from them themselves (police officers, law clerks, and anything in that era). I will hope to find a job in the federal building that a relative of mine is working.

Professor a new student should absolutely take a class with:
Honestly, every professor has their own strengths and weaknesses in their educational approaches, but the professor I recommend taking is . He is very articulate and chill professor to take. He is one of the people that made me who I am today and uplifting support he ensured me of lead me to the person I am now. His teaching style is very understanding and not overbearing.

Class I never expected to love:
The class I never expect to love Healthcare Ethics class. This class showed every aspect of pros and cons of what happens in the health system, and it gives you a chance to speak freely about your thoughts and concerns of the different readings you worked alongside with your peers. Also, this class was designed differently than the other classes that you have to take so I felt comfortable and confident in what I was learning in the class. My most challenging class was science. I found myself always being overwhelmed with the work and homework that was assigned and paying attention to a class that is over 2hrs in one sitting was difficult. After, finishing the class I found myself being more attentive and being more intellectual with my work and organizational skills.

Favorite spot on campus:
My favorite place on campus is the Wintrust Hall. This is mainly the social area of where most of me and my friends hang out at and is a place where I am able to make conversation with everyone.

Best thing I've done since coming to Arrupe:
The best thing that I have done since being a part of Arrupe is coming out of my comfort zone. My first few months at Arrupe was filled with butterflies and fear of opening myself to faculty, peers, and professors because I had a mindset of feeling intimidated with this new environment that I have no idea of and anyone of, so I was barricading myself. Shortly after getting a feel of Arrupe, that comfort zone was blown away quickly and now I am closer with faculty, peers, and professors.

Some surprisingly cool things about Arrupe:
Some surprisingly cool things about Arrupe are that everyone is chill and laid back. Everyone is very supportive of everyone and whatever they want to do or be. I have never seen such a strong community that loves making your day and doesn’t mind stopping in their tracks to see how you are doing or a simple “hi.”
