Tools, Strategy, and Community for What Comes After DEI
Now is the time for experienced leaders to connect, collaborate and support human dignity while navigating a rapidly changing world. What’s Next is designed to empower leaders with the values, knowledge, and tools to navigate evolving policies and challenges. It emphasizes human dignity, supporting participants in upholding and operationalizing this principle in their leadership roles. Spanning several months, this comprehensive program includes a mix of in-person and virtual sessions, featuring immersive learning experiences, individualized coaching, and peer networking.
The What’s Next program is brought to you in a partnership of the Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility and Loyola University’s Institute for Racial Justice and will cover essential topics in the evolution of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This program will be led by the expert leader and facilitator Carla Kupe, Chief Equity Officer for the City of Chicago.

What’s Next evolves from the Leading for DEI program, which united cross-sector changemakers to advance equity through strategic leadership. Drawing on that foundation, What’s Next equips leaders to meet today’s challenges with clarity, courage, and community.

Key Components
What’s Next equips participants with the tools, insights and community to lead with clarity and courage in today’s dynamic environment:
Strategy and action development: Develop forward-thinking approaches for this moment with inspiration and feedback from fellow practitioners and industry leaders.
Opportunities for Live-Tracking and Strategizing: Peer-driven discussions on actions now, making determinations on how to lead, how to comply and what actions to take.
Peer-Led Community: Engage in a peer-led community fostering collaboration and shared learning.
Individualized coaching sessions: Partner with a dedicated coach to work one-on-one toward your individual leadership goals.
Program Structure
What’s Next will open with an immersive day long retreat in the summer. Following the opening retreat, the cohort will meet five times (in-person and online) from August 2025 to November 2025. Each learning session will have a specific learning objective and will be structured to promote a high level of open peer exchange and feature facilitated strategy workshops. Alongside cohort meetings, cohort members will participate in three individualized coaching sessions and will be invited to attend gatherings at the Baumhart Center.
Throughout the program, cohort members are encouraged to invite up to three leaders within their companies to participate in select guest speaker visits and workshops.

Program Pricing
What’s Next costs $5,000 for the full program.
The cost includes:
- An immersive opening retreat at Loyola University Quinlan School of Business
- Five facilitated cohort sessions
- Three individualized coaching sessions
- All food and drinks
- All materials
