Anti-Hate Initiative
The Anti-Hate Initiative is a coordinated, cross-divisional effort to cultivate dignity-grounded student leadership through education, response, coalition, and assessment in pursuit of a Loyola where every person feels safe, included, and belonging.
Our Mission
The Anti-Hate Initiative exists because every person's dignity matters and hate is a threat to that dignity. We teach our community how to recognize hate and stand up to it. We ensure affected students get the support they need through our campus-wide and community partnerships. We are guided by our Jesuit mission and Ignatian value of Cura Personalis, or care for the whole person, which means caring enough to confront what stands in the way of our students' physical and psychological safety, inclusion, and sense of belonging.
Pillars of Focus
Education
"Learn to see it. Learn to interrupt it."
Deliver anti-hate curriculum and training that gives the entire Loyola community shared language for how hate is learned, how it escalates, and how to stop it.
Response
"If you are harmed, you are not alone – and you know where to go."
Provide a clear, documented, support and accompaniment pathway that supports affected students and hands off cleanly to the offices that adjudicate.
Coalition
"No one office owns campus climate. We do this work together."
Ownership is shared across staff, faculty, students, and external partners to ensure work is impactful, durable, and sustainable.
Assessment
"We measure what changes, not just who showed up."
Ongoing measurement and assessment of institutional and human impact, defined by knowledge, confidence, behavior, and climate.
Our Approach
Peer Education
Student leaders of Ramblers Analyzing Ideas, or "Idealists," lead anti-hate curriculum to help peers recognize bias, respond to hate, and move forward together despite differences.

Office for Equity and Compliance
The Office for Equity and Compliance serves the Loyola community by coordinating the University's response to reports and complaints of discrimination, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and related offenses.
Office of the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students serves as a central hub for student support and conduct, providing resources, guidance, conflict resolution, and advocacy to foster student success and well-being.
Wellness Center
The Wellness Center provides quality, confidential, and holistic medical, mental health, and health promotion services to our students, including emergency and crisis care, gender-based violence support, and mental health counseling.
Mission Integration
The Division of Mission integration serves to connect faculty, staff, and administrators to connect with our Jesuit, Catholic mission and Ignatian tradition to deepen their faith, work for justice, and build in community.
Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry invites students of all traditions to celebrate their faith, connect with others, engage in service, and grow in spirituality through peer groups, retreats, pastoral care, spiritual direction, volunteering, and more.
Report and Find Support
The CURA Network provides support, coordination, case management, and resource referrals for student concerns across the university. Submit a referral for yourself or another student to access care and report equity and Title IX concerns.
