Safoora Fatima lives in the suburbs with her husband and 3 kids.  She originally from South India.  She came to the US in 1990 to complete her Master's Degree in Computer Science from Bradley University.  Her undergraduate degree is in Electronics and Communication Engineering.  She has always been in teaching since completing the undergraduate degree. She taught at Bradley as a teaching assistant and then as an instructor after graduation.  Her teaching experience is 30+ years.

She has taught all courses in CIS for both West Virginia University at Parkersburg as well as DeVry University.  The courses she loves to teach are all database courses and the programming sequence. She has taught senior project capstone courses for more than a decade with all real-world projects instead of simulations.

Safoora's teaching philosophy is reaching out to one student at a time if possible.  She is there for whoever is eager to learn.

Safoora has taught online courses since DeVry went online which is about a decade and a half ago.  Since then, she has taught for Loyola, National, Dominican, Northern Illinois, Concordia, National Louis, and Harper online, onsite, as well as in blended modalities.

In her spare time, Safoora does what any mom does which is cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her kids even if they are 26, 24, and 18.  They still live together, which is not an alien concept for them.  For some unknown reason, her family seems to have adopted Korean culture, language, and food habits.  Safoora thinks it is because they only watch Korean dramas.  Her daughter can speak, read, and write Korean like a native.  Safoora is still learning.
