Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards (1996-2019)
The Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards, presented by the Family Business Center at Loyola University Chicago, began in 1995 and ran for 25 years until 2019. At it's core, the Awards were a way to honor and celebrate family businesses with a strong commitment to both business and family, positive family/business linkage, multi-generational family business involvement, contributions to industry and community, and innovate business practices and strategies.
Awards were presented in six categories:
- Large Family Business of the Year Award
More than 250 employees
- Medium Family Business of the Year Award
- Small Family Business of the Year Award
Less than 50 employees
- Community Service Award
Recognizing a company with exemplary community service efforts (both volunteer and monetary donations)
- Century Award
Recognizing a company whose success and longevity has lasted 100 years or more under the leadership of the same family.
- Dean's Award
Recognizing a business that excels in social enterprise, supply chain management or emerging markets.
