Your UVID and Password

Every Rome Start student is issued a Loyola username (UVID). This username is used to access Loyola’s online portals as well as your university e-mail. Your UVID is listed on your acceptance letter.

Your initial password is in the format flmmddyy where f = first letter of your first name, l = first letter of your last name, mm = month you were born, dd = day you were born, and yy = last two digits of the year you were born.

Your username and password are case sensitive, so you must type them using all lower-case letters. For example, if your name was John Doe and your birthday was January 2, 2003, your password would be jd010203.

Security

For security reasons, it is important that you change your password as soon as possible to something only you know.

To change your password, log-on to Loyola’s Password Self-service.

LOCUS

LOCUS is “Loyola’s Online Connection to University Services.” Among many other things, LOCUS is useful for viewing your financial aid package, course descriptions, and your e-bill.

If your parents will be helping you to cover tuition costs, it is important to give them guest access to your LOCUS account. To do this, log-in to LOCUS and click on the “Personal Portfolio” and then “Parent/Guest Access” option from the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

E-mail

Access to Loyola's GroupWise e-mail system is granted to students upon receipt of the enrollment deposit. Your Loyola UVID also serves as your Loyola e-mail address.  Simply add “@luc.edu” to the end of your UVID to get your e-mail address (i.e. UVID: jdoe, e-mail: jdoe@luc.edu).

Access your Loyola e-mail here.

It is important to check your Loyola e-mail as all official Loyola communications will be sent to this e-mail address.

If you would prefer to use a different e-mail address, you can have your Loyola e-mail rerouted to your preferred address.
