About
Ginger Schroers, PhD, RNC-MNN, CNE, is an experienced nurse educator and faculty member in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing at Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Schroers has taught various undergraduate theory and clinical courses, with her background lying heavily in maternal-child nursing. She is certified by the NCC in maternal-newborn nursing, and she is an NLN-certified nurse educator. She received her BSN degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, her MS degree from North Park University, and her PhD from Villanova University. She is a 2019-2020 NLN Jonas Scholar, and a member of the NLN, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Midwest Nursing Research Society.
Research Interests
Dr. Schroers’ interests include topics related to the use of cognitive science to improve patient safety, innovative teaching methods, and faculty role development. Her doctoral research study used mixed methods to investigate interruptions during simulated medication administration.
