Italian-Style Cafeteria

Read the Mensa Instructions here.

The cafeteria, "mensa" service is provided by an Italian catering company, and the menu items are predominantly Italian. Italian cuisine is among the most delectable in the world, and discovering its variety is an integral part of a student's experience. Students will find a variety of choices at the JFRC, including salad, fruits, pastas, fish or meat, vegetables, and breads. The variety of choices also accommodates dietary needs such as gluten intolerance and is amenable to students who are vegetarian.

As stipulated in the Room Application and Contract, the Rome Center provides two meals (lunch and dinner) per day in the cafeteria. Be advised that there is no meal service during these periods:

  • Fall semester break
  • Thanksgiving recess
  • Break between semesters
  • Spring semester break
  • Easter recess

‌All Day Coffee & Snack Bar

Located on the -2 level of the JFRC Campus, Rinaldo's bar provides students with coffee and light snacks including sandwiches, pizza and pasta. Rinaldo's hours are typically from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday, closed on Saturdays and open again on Sunday evening.

Throughout the year, Rinaldo's is the place where a variety of social and cultural events occur. The Office of Student Life at the JFRC organizes events that include lectures on Italian life and culture, volunteer activities, movie nights, karaoke nights and theme parties.

For 35 years, Rinaldo and Nella Fiorini and their children Davide and Sylvia operated the coffee and snack bar at the JFRC. John Felice wanted the cafe to be privately run and by an Italian family. Rinaldo and Nella served countless panini and cappuccini and shared endless memories with thousands of students.
The Cafe is now run by a wonderful family lead by our Italian “mamma” Marina, continuing the family tradition of Rinaldo and Nella's Bar. Students can eat, study, read, and access wireless in this quaint little cafe.
