Why do you enjoy working with professional degree students?

I love teaching Professional Degree Students because it takes a higher level of passion to make time for learning while being engaged in work or already having assorted expertise and yet wanting to add on different skill and learning areas. Also, I think that is a direct benefit to the industry and professional as it enhances existing professional profiles. It means tailoring content and delivery to different learning styles and needs, which is a challenge for an instructor, so it is all the more exciting.

Recent accomplishments, work, accolades, etc.

My First Book of Short stories on Indian Women - Red Chili Pickle and Moonlit Terraces: The Making of Indian Woman Hood was reviewed in Affilia.

My editorial with colleagues on a special issue of Affilia was published last year: Critical Feminist Scholarship as a Roadmap Toward a Just Future

I conducted an invited guest lecture on ‘ Ethics in Research’ for Jaipuria Management Institute in India in December of 2023.

How has your experience at SCPS impacted you as an instructor and professional?

It has been wonderful to see the high level of motivation and experience of the learners in SCPS. I have found it a new and engaging experience.

What impact has being an instructor at SCPS had on your community?

As a full time faculty member at Loyola within School of Social Work, I found becoming a part  of SCPS to be enriching. I have acquired a warm community in SCPS

What are some highlights of SCPS that you will remember going forward?

The workshop on DEIB that I conducted for ACHE, that was through SCPS members was a marvelous experience. Expanding my skills and ways in online teaching will be another memory. And making good friends - Jennifer and Amy from within SCPS

What do you want those outside of SCPS to know about SCPS students?

The students bring a lot of knowledge and desire to know and learn…they are diverse learners and it is very satisfying as an instructor to teach adult learners who are professionals.
