Dianne Dawson Daniels,
Clinical Professor of Management, Strategy, and Leadership Studies
In teaching courses in organizational development, leadership, and management, Dianne Dawson Daniels leans heavily into a distinguished corporate career that includes leading units and working with executives at Fortune 100 companies in the tech, telecommunications, and financial services sectors. In one such course, CPST 250: Foundations of Organizations, Daniels provides a broad understanding of organizational behavior, leadership, and strategic management while simultaneously highlighting the importance of interpersonal skills, self-awareness, and strategic thinking to achieving organizational objectives.
But Daniels relies on another attribute when teaching at SCPS: a personal dedication to lifelong learning and social justice. She is eager to guide SCPS’s diverse adult student population through the complexities of career advancement and personal growth while also arming them with the necessary skills to build equitable and inclusive work environments.
In another of her popular courses, CPST 365 Advanced Special Topics: Strategic Equity and Inclusion, Daniels challenges students to reflect on their biases, understand systemic issues, and develop actionable plans for sustainable change. It compels students to consider their role as a leader and think more deeply about human behavior and movements in society. In doing so, Daniels prepares her students to be effective leaders and managers who can navigate and influence organizational dynamics in positive ways.
