Workshop

Join Loyola University Chicago’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) and School of Law for Read the Fine Print: Contracts in Action, a free, hands-on workshop on the fundamentals of contract law. Explore foundational concepts, apply them to common professional scenarios, and hear from Loyola alumni working as contract paralegals and attorneys.

Led by Patricia Lee, Rodin Associate Dean of Experiential Learning and clinical professor in the School of Law, and Johanna Tracy, SCPS Paralegal Studies instructor, the workshop will conclude with a panel moderated by Marie Harrigan, director of the Institute for Paralegal Studies.

Saturday, Nov. 7

9–10 a.m. | Networking & Information Session
Connect with SCPS and School of Law faculty, learn about academic programs, and explore educational and career paths. Breakfast will be provided. 

10 a.m.–1 p.m. | Contracts in Action Workshop
A free, hands-on workshop covering the fundamentals of contract law, with practical scenarios and an alumni panel.

Location: Corboy Law Center, Room L09

Workshop schedule

10–11 a.m. | Contracts from a transactional perspective
Patricia Lee will introduce contracts from the perspective of a transactional business attorney.

11 a.m.–noon | Contracts from a litigation perspective
Johanna Tracy will examine contracts from the perspective of a litigator.

Noon–1 p.m. | Alumni panel
Marie Harrigan will moderate a panel featuring Loyola alumni working as contract paralegals and attorneys.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided.

Before the workshop, join SCPS and School of Law faculty and staff to learn about academic programs, explore educational and career paths, and ask questions. Breakfast will be provided.
