As your Student Government (SGLC), we work tirelessly to represent your voice and concerns in order to improve your Loyola experience. There are three primary functions we carry out that we want you to be aware of:
1. Our Allocations Committee works with the Student Activities and Greek Affairs (SAGA) Office and allocates money to Registered Student Organizations to carry out student led events on our campus.
2. We support and often write student centered policies on campus
3. Finally, given our positions, we regularly meet with Loyola’s administration to collaborate on a wide array of initiatives that address pressing issues on campus.
About a year ago, we embarked on a journey with you to make our campus more inclusive, sustainable, accessible, safe, engaged and continue to promote student wellness. This year we have made great strides in all of these areas and have continued to partner with student organizations and Loyola Administration to fulfill the initiatives we have laid out in our 2019-2020 Organizational Goals. Although we have made progress, this work cannot stop now!
As we prepare for our Spring Elections, we are looking to elect the next generation of student representatives that will advocate for your concerns. This is a moment of great excitement and we want to encourage all of you to be engaged with our upcoming elections. If it is running for any of our open positions, voting and/or helping spread awareness of our election cycle, your participation is crucial for our campus.
If you have any questions or if you are interested in getting involved, feel free to contact our Spring Elections Committee to the following email: SGLCElections@luc.edu
