Partners in the Chicago Food System Internships
The modern industrial food system leaves large numbers of Chicagoans food insecure, directs money away from food industry workers and local entrepreneurs and towards international conglomerates, and depletes agricultural lands. In response, organizations in Chicago are building community food systems to achieve food sovereignty. These organizations aim to generate jobs, ownership, and community wealth through food and agriculture enterprises that provide fresh, culturally relevant, sustainably-produced foods.
As a continuation of our 2024 Schreiber Innovation Grant program, we will support local organizations to increase food sovereignty in Chicago communities by providing skilled labor through paid internships that foster students' professional, personal, and civic development. Each internship compensates students at $16.20/hour, and time commitments vary per position and organization. Please review the specific descriptions.
