Eligibility for participation in the transit program requires an FTE .80 or higher. You may elect any amount in combination of the following resources not to exceed the monthly $245.00 federal pre-tax limit for 2013 for the pre-tax allowance.
How the Program Works
Enroll in the Transit Benefit Program via the Internet at: www.LoyolaExpress.com. Using the Internet to enroll is easy and safe. Our secure website is set up to automatically take you through easy enrollment steps with instructions on line. After you log on, the website will prompt you to enter your LOYOLA USERNAME and your LOYOLA PASSWORD. You may phone Benefit Express – Customer Service at (877) 837-5017 if you have questions or enrollment problems.
You may log on at any time to view or change your elections. To change your election(s) online, the cut-off date is the 14th of each month. Your new change will be effective with the following full month’s payroll deduction(s) taken for the subsequent month’s transit fare media.
In an effort to allow flexibility and convenience we will be transitioning ALL current transit participants to the Benefit Express Benefits card. The Benefits card is a debit MasterCard that gives you easy access to ALL reimbursement accounts combined into one card.
The following are other highlights about the Debit MasterCard:
- No debit card fee
- Easy Access to all reimbursement accounts (Health Care, Dependent Care and Transit)
- The card will be funded with your monthly Transit election contribution by the 20th of every month. These funds will be available to use by 1st of the following month.
- The card has a three year expiration date
If you are currently enrolled in the Flexible Spending Account Program you would have already received a Benefits Express Debit card. To provide you with more flexibility your Transit plan will be linked to this same card. This card will be funded with your transit payroll deductions from the month of November 2013 to purchase Transit options of your choice in December 2013.
If you are currently enrolled in the Transit Benefit plan only, you will be receiving a Benefits Debit card in the mail no later November 20th. This card will be funded with your transit payroll deductions from the month of November to purchase Transit options of your choice in December.
Since Benefit Express doesn’t have access to your Ventra card we encourage employees to log on to their Ventra accounts and keep track of their balances and usages on a regular basis.
