John O'Shaughnessy

CEO & CFO, Franciscan Sisters of Mary

John has served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Franciscan Sisters of Mary (FSM), a Roman Catholic congregation of women religious in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, since 1992, with duties of Chief Executive Officer added in January 2015. For the past 16 years he has also served as financial official or advisor to several other Catholic congregations. John is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and was formerly a Registered Investment Advisor.

With John’s guidance, in 2013 FSM fully integrated impact investing into its investment program. He also planned and implemented FSM’s “fossil fuel divestment” strategy in 2014. Also in 2014 John founded the Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative (CIIC), a growing global network of Catholic institutions and investment professionals whose mission is to expand impact investing through community building, sharing experiences and learning from one another. John is a board member and the treasurer of the Global Catholic Climate Movement (GCCM).

John resides in St. Louis with his wonderful wife of 31 years, Sheri. Together they have two adult children and one amazing 2-year-old grandson.
