The Impact through Alliance: Chicago Neighborhood Business Series launched with a powerful first stop in Englewood. Attendees took part in an immersive, community-centered experience that spotlighted the strength and stories of this dynamic neighborhood.
Guided by award-winning Chicago historian and storyteller Dilla, participants explored Englewood’s rich cultural heritage, visited local businesses driving change, and connected with community leaders dedicated to building a more inclusive economy. The day offered a firsthand look at neighborhood-based economic development and set the tone for a four-part series celebrating resilience, innovation, and collaboration across Chicago.

10:00 AM – Departure from the Schreiber Center
Board the bus outside the Schreiber Center at Loyola University Chicago (16 E Pearson St.) for the start of the Englewood experience.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Guided Neighborhood Tour of Englewood
Ride through Englewood on a curated bus tour led by Dilla. Discover the neighborhood’s deep roots, local businesses, and community-led initiatives that reflect resilience and innovation.
12:00 – 1:30 PM – Panel Discussion at Kennedy-King College
Location: Black Box Theatre, Kennedy-King College, 6301 S. Halsted St.
Hear from local entrepreneurs and community leaders working to build inclusive economic growth in Englewood.
