Collaboration at the center of partnership with Comcast
Comcast and Loyola University Chicago’s Baumhart Center are proud to partner on advancing neighborhood economic development and expanding digital equity. Through collaborative events and initiatives, Comcast helps bring the Center’s mission to life—empowering leaders and communities at the intersection of business and purpose.
A Strategic Partnership for Local Impact
What began as a sponsorship has grown into a multi-year, strategic partnership. Comcast is now the Baumhart Center’s Economic Development Partner—a two-year collaboration dedicated to supporting local businesses, nonprofits, and community ecosystems in Chicago.
Shared values, lasting impact
At the Baumhart Center, we believe business has a powerful role to play in building a more inclusive and sustainable future. Comcast, a global telecommunications company, shares this belief—and has been a valued partner in advancing our mission.
Through initiatives that increase digital access and support small businesses, Comcast helps foster thriving, resilient communities. Their work ensures that local entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders have the tools and technology needed to succeed in a rapidly changing economy.
Driving Impact Through Collaboration
Over the years, Comcast has supported the Baumhart Center in many ways, including:
- Sponsoring the annual Leading for Good, a convening of hundreds of leaders exploring how to align business strategy with social purpose.
- Championing cross-sector collaboration and empowering women-owned small businesses, as highlighted in a discussion on the positive neighborhood impact of such partnerships.
- Leading efforts to close the digital divide by participating in a collaborative Solution Design Workshop with the Chicago Digital Equity Council, bringing together over 40 leaders from across sectors to develop community-driven solutions for digital equity in Chicago.
- Exploring practical and ethical ways small businesses and nonprofits can best use AI during the “AI For Good: Demystifying AI for Small Businesses and Nonprofits” event.
- Discussing high-impact approaches for delivering investments, jobs, and economic opportunity across Chicago in the “The New Chicago Way: Investment in Every Neighborhood” panel during Leading for Good 2024.
- Introducing a panel on emerging technologies, “New Industries, Local Impact” during Leading for Good 2025.
- Serving as a thought partner in Baumhart Center’s ESG certificate program.
Together, we are aligning Comcast’s investment in local economic development and digital equity with the Center’s commitment to values-based leadership and systemic change.
