Throughout his career in sacred music, Dr. Caviedes-Chua has held music ministry positions within the Archdiocese of Detroit, Diocese of Joliet, and Archdiocese of Chicago. His ecumenical work has also included more than a decade of music ministry within congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. An alumnus of Loyola University Chicago, Dr. Caviedes-Chua earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Philosophy as well as a Doctor of Education degree from Loyola. His doctoral research examined music performance anxiety and its relationship to assessment and the student learning experience. He also pursued studies in organ at Sacred Heart Major Seminary and studied organ with Calvert Shenk, FAGO, in Detroit.
