Online Events Archive

The Department of Fine and Performing Arts (DFPA) presents an average of 100+ public programs annually. From dance performnaces, gallery exhibitions, music concerts, and theatrical producitons, each public event involves students, faculty, and university and student staff. As an extension of the arts classroom, our talented and committed students play significant roles in these events, either front and center or behind the scenes, making our public programs sites of applied learning.

As in the wider University community, COVID-19 has had a significant impact on our department. The responsibility of keeping our arts community safe and healthy has called us to pivot away from the immidiacy and ephemoral nature of in-person artistic experiences. In a short period of adjustment the DFPA has embraced the possibilities of using digital platforms to reimagine our public programs and creative conversations so that we are able to continue delivering public programs and supporting the learning outcomes of the Dance, Fine Arts, Music, and Theatre programs.

This page serves as a living archive of our experiments in online public programming. We will post video documentation and other materials chronicalling our digital public engagement starting in Fall 2020.
