Graduate Faculty of the Year 2026

The Council of Graduate School Programs (CGSP) and the Graduate School are pleased to announce Dr. Clodia Osipo as the recipient of the 2026 Graduate Faculty of the Year Award. A Professor in the Departments of Cancer Biology and Microbiology & Immunology, Dr. Osipo also serves as Graduate Program Director for Biochemistry, Molecular and Cancer Biology. She was selected in recognition of her outstanding commitment to graduate student education, research, mentorship, and service to the Graduate School.

Since joining Loyola’s faculty in 2005, Dr. Osipo has demonstrated a sustained commitment to graduate education. As Graduate Program Director, she has helped strengthen the graduate program and foster a strong sense of community among students and faculty. She also serves as Chair of the Health Sciences Campus Graduate School Council and has held various leadership roles across the University. As an educator, Dr. Osipo is highly regarded by her students. 

Dr. Osipo is deeply committed to mentoring graduate students and has served on numerous qualifying exam and dissertation committees. Colleagues value her thoughtful, rigorous approach to mentorship and her ability to encourage students to think critically and develop as independent scientists. Her experience with graduate education is complemented by an active research program focused on developing new treatments for treatment-resistant breast cancer. Together, her teaching, mentorship, research, and leadership reflect a dedication to supporting graduate students and advancing graduate education at Loyola.

The Graduate School joins the Council of Graduate School Programs in thanking Dr. Osipo for her service to Loyola.
