Small Groups

CURA Logo

Cura is a small spirituality group centered on the Ignatian concept of "cura personalis," or care for the whole person. This group meets a couple times per month (usually about every other week around lunch) and is facilitated by the Chaplains in HSC Ministry. Though the topic and format varies from week to week, our time focuses on reflection and conversation in community, and exploring questions of meaning and purpose. Some students attend regularly while others drop-in as their schedule allows. Students of any year of any academic program are invited. Please email Chaplain Justin Hoch to be added to our email list and to receive upcoming session dates.

Grief, Loss and Healing

HSC Ministry offers a small group for students in the midst of processing grief and loss. In a safe, confidential, and communal space, we will have an opportunity to share more deeply about personal experiences with loss, death, and grief, whether those experiences are recent, years ago, or ongoing. Through conversation, reflection, and sharing of resources, we hope to accompany one another along a journey toward healing and wholeness. These sessions are facilitated by the Chaplains in HSC Ministry. We also offer a list of off-campus contacts and available resources, groups, retreats, or programs - both spiritual and non-spiritual in nature. Please contact Chaplain Ann Hillman for resources and connection to support.

Prayer App

Loyola Medicine recently lauched a prayer app as part of our mission to treat the human spirit. Available online, as a daily email, or in the App Store, the Pray Loyola Med app includes a daily scripture reading, reflection, prayer as well as a place to submit prayer requests. Visit the Pray Loyola Med here.
