Western Neolithic Idols: Symbols of Fertility and Life

January 31 March 8, 2009

A gift by Harlan J. and Pamela Berk, and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron R. Berk, Western Neolithic Idols: Symbols of Fertility and Life featured more than 100 Kiliya-type, Thessalonian, and VinĨa (from modern-day Turkey, northern Greece, and Macedonia, respectively) sculptural objects and fragments. The exhibition was intended to challenge viewers, asking them to ponder the idols’ original purpose.
