SCPS Student Leader, Phillip Franco

Phillip Franco

Phillip is a 2023 graduate from the BA Management program and holds a certificate in Organizational Development & Leadership.

Bridging the Gap

Phillip decided to seek a flexible, online education while maintaining full-time employment as a supervisor at the Marine Corps Community Services due to his aspiration to advance his career in business.

"I was looking for a program to where I could work full time still and study full time. When I learned a little bit about the Jesuit education and the cura personalis with Loyola, it kind of sealed the deal for me. I knew it was a program that I wanted to be part of."

Looking ahead, Phillip envisions transitioning from his government position to a larger company dedicated to addressing social and environmental issues.

Phillip highlights his Laws and Regulations for Leaders class where he gave a presentation on an organization related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues.

As an ambassador for SCPS, Phillip aims to bridge the gap for students with backgrounds similar to his own, especially as a first-generation Mexican American. He wishes to serve as an example of how hardworking individuals from diverse backgrounds can excel in both education and the professional world.

"It's never too late to go ahead and gain higher education. Anybody can do it. Being a Mexican American first generation student we have to lay the lay the path for future first-generation students, and it can be done."
