Juliana Tamayo

Graduate Assistant
MA Candidate, Women's Studies and Gender Studies

After graduating from Loyola this spring with a dual degree in Global Studies and Spanish Juliana is now beginning her Masters in Women Studies and Gender Studies. She is passionate about immigration reform having seen her parents struggle to obtain legal status for years. In May she completed a year-long placement at Catholic Charities in their Immigration and Naturalization Department where she worked with women who came to the United States seeking protection and new opportunities.

In the WSGS MA program, Juliana plans to continue studying female migration patterns and their effects on social structures. In addition to pursing her graduate degree, Juliana enjoys traveling, walking her dog and is on the hunt for the best coffee in the city.
