Kayla Freeman

MA Candidate, Women's Studies and Gender Studies
Kayla is pursuing a dual Master's in Social Work and Master's in Women's Studies and Gender Studies at Loyola. Prior to attending Loyola, Kayla worked in the non-profit sector, managing and teaching justice-oriented arts programs in Chicago and Evanston. Kayla has also worked as an instructional designer and curriculum writer for education non-profits, Fortune 500 companies, and small businesses.
Along with her work as a Graduate Assistant, Kayla currently serves as a Public Documenter with City Bureau and as a volunteer with feminist youth development org, {she crew}. Kayla's research interests include the intersection of mental health, body image, sexuality and the arts. After graduation, she plans to work as a mental health counselor for young adults. In her spare time, Kayla loves biking, traveling, blogging, thrift shopping, and making art.
