The Loyola University Chicago community mourns the passing of Clare M. Korinek, former University registrar and director of registration and records. Clare retired in November 2017 and passed away suddenly on May 26, 2018.

Clare joined the Loyola community in 1990, where she worked for many years as a systems analyst in the Division of Information Technology Services before joining Academic Affairs. Clare will be long remembered for the key role she played from 2003-05 as project manager for the PeopleSoft project. As project manager, Clare oversaw the successful transition to and implementation of a new, $10 million-dollar student information and registration system, which includes LOCUS. As University registrar, Clare also played a leadership role in the PeopleSoft upgrade project that successfully delivered Campus Solutions 9.0 to the University community in 2008 and in the successful implementation of many other academic initiatives, including the Core Curriculum, transition to 120-hour degree program, the Illinois Articulation Initiative, and the establishment of Arrupe College.

Services for Clare will be private.

Condolences may be sent to Clare’s husband, John, her son, Christopher, and her sister, Assistant Provost Anne Reuland, in care of Faculty Administration, Burrowes Hall, Lake Shore Campus.

Please remember Clare and her family in your prayers.
