Qazi M. Faaizuddin Biabani

Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Qazi M. Faaizuddin Biabani is an educator with more than 20 years of experience in teaching, teacher education, curriculum development, and mentoring. His work is centered on preparing future educators who are reflective, compassionate, and committed to serving diverse communities through equitable and culturally responsive practice. He holds a Ph.D. in Global Educational Leadership from DePaul University, where his research explored teacher preparation, social justice in education, and the preparation of educators to serve diverse communities. His teaching, research, and service are grounded in the belief that education is a transformative force that empowers individuals and strengthens communities.
Dr. Biabani has taught learners from early childhood through higher education in traditional and virtual settings. For more than a decade, he simultaneously taught elementary and junior high students while directing a specialized educational program, integrating teaching with program leadership. His experience also includes preparing teacher candidates, teaching at Loyola University Chicago and Harry S. Truman College, and contributing to the redesign of core education courses for the City Colleges of Chicago by developing curriculum and online course shells to enhance access and support high-quality, student-centered learning.
His research focuses on teacher preparation, social justice in education, culturally responsive pedagogy, teacher identity and professional formation, curriculum design, civic education, and educational equity. As a faculty member in Loyola University Chicago's School of Education, he is dedicated to preparing educators who recognize teaching as both a profession and a public responsibility, grounded in reflection, empathy, collaboration, and educational justice.
