Janis Anfossi is a law school faculty member who teaches regulatory law in the areas of health care administration, corporate compliance and health information privacy and security. She also serves as the Academic Fellow for Compliance Career Support in the Center for Regulatory Compliance Studies, developing externships and supporting compliance career efforts for online and on campus students.
Previously, she was the Associate Vice President for Compliance and Privacy at Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital in Chicago. In this role she oversaw the offices of Regulatory Compliance, HIPAA Privacy and Security, Conflicts of Interest, Auditing/Monitoring and Research Compliance.
Janis entered health care as a registered nurse working in ICUs and Bone Marrow Transplant as well as Nursing Management positions. She has held leadership positions in Risk Management and Quality Improvement at multi-hospital systems. She has been on the faculty of the HCCA Academies as well as the Rush College of Health Sciences and the Nursing College. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law and holds a Master of Public Health from San Diego State University.
